Instagram Hashtags

Does it really work? Yes
Do I really need hashtags? Yes
OK, I will quickly find some… NO!

Hashtags are an important way to expand your Instagram audience. Finding the best hashtags, those that can actually bring you new followers, is not a quick and easy work. Hashtags research is a work that may take several hours at least, so grab your keyboard, open an Excel file, take your phone, and start typing down.

The first step is what you have probably been doing until now anyway; that is, choosing a hashtag that fits the photo. You uploaded a sunset photo? Let’s add the hashtag #sunset then. Now, how can we make it more accurate? In Instagram, go to the tags tab and type the general keyword. Do you see all these tags open under? Do you see how many people have used them? These are hashtags that you can add to your list. These are the very strong hashtags with which few millions posts have already been tagged. Look also for hashtags with less tags, so your photo will not get lost quickly.

Remember that you can add up to 30 hashtags. You can, but you don’t have to. You will need to do some testing to determine what works best for your particular business. There is no right number of hashtags, since hashtagging works differently for every business, or even for every post by the same business.

Another way to find relevant hashtags is to look at similar accounts and see if they use relevant hashtags that can be useful for your photo.

You may also find hashtags by using hashtags tools like https://www.all-hashtag.com/. Just add a general word, and the application will find the more hashtag for you to use.

Now you should have a long list of hashtags, which you need to divide into several shorter lists. In each short list, include small hashtags, such as your product name or service, medium size hashtags, and several large scale words. You should also include your product’s niche, industry, special events, location and daily hashtags.

Create a few lists from all these hashtags and use a different list for each post.
Good luck!
